4.00pm- rahilah took us around. did a little shopping at Star parade, the place rahilah was proud of where she bought her cds and stuffs. she was also clueless as in where to bring us for a tour as she herself was not sure what are the things that can be proud of in alor setar. as the weather was not friendly to us, it was raining heavily moments later hence we decided to just touring around alor setar but just stayed in the car. so she showed us Tun Mahathir's house, pekan rabu and Alor Setar Tower. the tower looked pretty interesting (it maybe as tall as 16th floor vista komanwel and surprisingly, the-born-and-breed-alor-setar-girl admitted that she never go up to the tower herself) hence we decided to go there later at night if the weather permits.

6.00pm- we went to rahilah's house to clean ourselves as well as to let the rain settle. when it did, we went out again to eat laksa teluk kechai. it was just ok considering that i am not a laksa fan.

9.00am - to kuala kedah jetty and bought ticket to langkawi. at the jetty, we were approached by an agent for car rental and accomodation. we were attracted to his offer for car rental services hence we decided to accept it. we had wira for RM 100 for 3 days. we had a great deal therefore we couldn't let it slipped away.
- in the ferry, we watched a 'mute' version of rush hour 3. but still we enjoyed watching it.
- expenses - ferry's ticket = RM23

11.00am - arrived at langkawi's jetty and at the same time we met shasha and sabrina who were also just arrived from Penang. what a good planning. first thing we did was settled our stay and ride. initially, me and aziah thought since we were backpackers hence staying in motels would be more adventurous. however, after considering all aspects including safety and budget, we decided to stay at langkasuka beach resort.
- expenses - stay and ride = RM54/person for hotel
= RM28/person for car rental and oil

12pm - after everything was settled, we checked into the hotel and start our first activity....which was....lunch...we went to a restaurant somewhere in Chenang beach. later, we started the day with island tour

2pm - first stop was wildlife park(bird paradise) langkawi. it was so fun, we were able to feed the birds and took lots of pictures. probably the thing that make it totally fun was being together with friends and did the activities together. the rabbits were so cute(yes, there were rabbits there too). i had fun feeding them carrots.

waiting for the sunset

almost...before the big cloud 'destroyed' it

7.30pm - after been waiting for nearly 2hours, we couldn't really see the sunset as it was hampered by a big cluster? of cloud (mind my english..sorry). i was a bit disappointed but still i loveeee the beach. we then headed to pekan kuah to have dinner and to buy shades. it was a very important mission as we wanted to look our best for our activity tomorrow which was Island Hopping. plus we expected that the weather going to be very hot tomorrow hence we need shades to protect our beautiful healthy eyes. and of course to look good in pictures.

8.30pm - we had dinner at pekan kuah and finally bought our shades at pasar malam (night market) for RM13. as it was about to rain at that time hence we were in a hurry. we just grabbed and go. then we bought some food for our lunch during island hopping the next day. when back to hotel at 10pm.

26th March 2008

8am - 3 of us went for free breakfast at the hotel while me and ainon had our breakfast in the hotel room.

9am - to porto malai resort where we would take a boat there for Island Hopping. Island hopping is a tour to 3 nearby islands including Dayang Bunting, Pulau Singa Besar and Beras Basah.

10am- we arrived at Pulau Dayang Bunting and we went to the lake. we were given an hour to enjoy ourselves. we were welcomed by a group of monkeys. there was a tourist in front of us was holding a book of bread in a plastic. within a split second, the monkeys grabbed it and ate all the bread. it was as if they were trained to do so and the teamwork was superb. it was so fascinating i wished they could do it again so i could record it. i slipped and fall and my camera sustained a minor abrasion.huhu. the lake was so beautiful and there was a place where you could put your feet into it and there would be fishes that would gently and tenderly bite/cleanse your feet. it was very tickle. expenses - RM7.50 for paddle ride

in the boat for Island Hopping

Gunung Dayang Bunting (Pregnant Maiden mountain)

1am - next stop was pulau singa besar where we could see eagle feeding. the scenery was so nice. that was the time i wished i have a super cool nice camera so that i could take pictures like the one in national geographic.

12pm - our last stop was pulau beras basah. all of us except me took the chance to swim due to unforeseen circumstances. i was like their 'mama' watching over them and took pictures and prepare the food for our 'lunch'

ini "duyung" bunting terdampar kat beras basah..me and ainon tengah buat kira gestational age dia..wanna guess?

1pm - we went back to hotel, rest and relax for a while before we went out again for a proper lunch and shopping for chocolate!!!

3pm - we had our lunch again somewhere in chenang beach. expenses - RM5.50

4pm - we went to gamat factory to buy some gamat product. we saw how they cook gamat. according to one of the worker and also from what i've seen on tv, if you put your finger into the it (the boiling gamat), you would not feel hot. so we tried and you damn liars. it WAS HOT. ok maybe not really hot but still. hot. hot. and hot.
